XC: Gryphon Women Win Paul Short Run

Comments

Bethlehem, PA - For the second year in a row the University of Guelph Gryphons won the women's team title at the Paul Short XC Run in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.   The Paul Short XC Run is annually one of the largest collegiate meets in North America with over 100 colleges and universities competing.  The Gryphons had a largely new cast of characters with four of their top seven runners not in last year's top seven runners.  At the front was a familiar face, Katrina Allison.  Last year Allison shocked many with her second place finish in the race, she couldn't catch anyone off guard this year, as she maintained a position at the front of the lead pack throughout the race.  As the leaders entered the last 500 metres the lead pack had whittled to three, the three exchange the lead back forth over the home stretch with Allison finishing third.
